Pat Seaton’s life will never be the same again. The woman just appeared, as if from nowhere, and then she was gone… dead, and he had run her over. The police immediately declare him innocent, but Pat has got to know more about her. Her name was Laney Grey – she was a local poet. Her poems mean little to him at first, but then he starts to unravel their meaning and comes to understand that dark forces were at work in Laney’s life.
